Ahmadi has photographed displacement camps across three continents over a decade. This image, taken at the hour before darkness in Jordan, refuses the usual rhetoric of refugee photography — there is no despair performed for the camera, no child presented as symbol. There are tents, and light, and the scale of a sky that does not care.
