Lone Crane
Kenji Mori · 2020
- Medium
- Ink and light colour on silk
- Dimensions
- 60 × 120 cm
The crane in East Asian tradition is the bird of longevity — associated with sages, immortals, and solitude. Mori's crane stands in shallow water at the edge of the silk, its reflection barely suggested below. The emptiness around it is precisely measured: three-quarters of the painting is unpainted silk.
